Talon knife CS2 buyers usually arrive from a Karambit or a Butterfly they could not justify, and the numbers back the instinct. On the 25 October 2026 refresh of my price feed a Factory New Karambit Fade had a lowest listing of $1,495 and a Factory New Butterfly Doppler $1,853. On 14 October 2026 the cheapest Factory New Talon Fade on the Steam Community Market asked $1,112.97, and the cheapest Factory New Talon Doppler $929.34. Those Talon figures are Steam asking prices, not the third-party listings my feed records, so treat the gap as a direction rather than an exact discount. The direction is clear, though: the Talon gives you the premium finishes for well under Butterfly money.

The Talon is not in my continuous feed, so everything specific to it on this page comes from one dated read. On the morning of 14 October 2026 I pulled every Talon Knife listing on Steam's market, 127 item names in total once StatTrak versions are counted, and recorded the lowest asking price and the number of listings for each finish and wear. I also queried my usual multi-marketplace feed for six of them. That query errored for five items and returned "no listings found" for the sixth, a Gamma Doppler Talon. More on that below.

So this page answers eight questions in order: which finishes exist, what each one cost that day, where the Talon sits against the knives I do track, and how to pick a finish and a wear tier without overpaying.

Which Talon Knife finishes actually exist in CS2?

Eighteen finishes plus the plain, unfinished "vanilla" Talon. That is what Valve's own market showed on 14 October 2026: every Talon item name with at least one active listing on the Steam Community Market. My rule for this site is simple. A finish with no listings anywhere does not get a price, and it does not get a row in a table.

The eighteen, grouped by how they behave on the market rather than by name:

  • Camouflage and plain finishes: Safari Mesh, Forest DDPAT, Boreal Forest, Scorched, Night Stripe, Urban Masked. These list in every wear tier and make up the bottom of the family.
  • Steel and colour finishes: Blue Steel, Stained, Case Hardened, Crimson Web, Slaughter, Fade. Most of these list in four or five wear tiers. Fade listed only in Factory New and Minimal Wear.
  • The second finish set: Doppler, Marble Fade, Tiger Tooth, Damascus Steel, Ultraviolet, Rust Coat. Doppler, Marble Fade and Tiger Tooth listed only in Factory New and Minimal Wear. Rust Coat listed only in Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. Damascus Steel listed in all five tiers.

Two of those wear patterns are worth reading carefully. When I say Fade or Doppler "listed only in Factory New and Minimal Wear", I mean exactly that: those were the only wear tiers with a Steam listing that day. I am not claiming a float cap I have not checked against a source. The practical effect for a buyer is the same, though. If you want a Doppler Talon, you are shopping in the top two tiers.

What does not exist is just as useful. A lot of price lists online pad the Talon with the newer finish set that some knives received later: Gamma Doppler, Lore, Autotronic, Black Laminate, Bright Water and Freehand. None of those names appeared in Steam's results for the Talon. I then queried a Factory New Gamma Doppler Talon against my multi-marketplace feed, and it came back "No listings found" across every venue it covers. On that evidence I treat those finishes as not existing on this knife, and I do not price them.

What did every Talon finish cost on 14 October 2026?

This is the big table, and it is a frozen snapshot on purpose. Each cell is the lowest asking price on the Steam Community Market for that exact item, read at about 06:30 UTC on 14 October 2026, with the number of listings in brackets. It covers the 19 non-StatTrak items, finish by finish, sorted from the most expensive cheapest-listing to the least. "No listing" means Steam had nothing for sale in that tier that morning.

Across those rows there were 937 non-StatTrak Talon listings on Steam that morning. The most listed single item was the Factory New Marble Fade with 61, followed by Battle-Scarred Rust Coat (47) and Field-Tested Ultraviolet (46). At the other end, 9 cells had only one or two listings, and those are the cells to distrust. A tier with a single seller has no market price, just one person's asking price. The Factory New Case Hardened ($1,713.09, one listing) and the Factory New Night Stripe ($1,707.61, one listing) both sit far above the rest of their rows for that reason.

These prices will not update on this page. Because the Talon is not in my feed, I would rather show you a clearly dated day than a set of numbers that silently goes stale. If you are buying, check the live listing on Steam and on the marketplaces you use. The chart at the top of the page plots the cheapest cell in each row.

Where does the Talon sit on the knife ladder I track?

Above the budget knives, below the Karambit, and a long way below the Butterfly. My feed tracks seven benchmark knives, and on the 25 October 2026 refresh they ran from a Factory New Navaja Doppler at $97.12, through a Gut Knife Doppler at $105.00, a Field-Tested Flip Knife Urban Masked at $103.67 and Shadow Daggers Fade at $121.27, to a Bayonet Doppler at $328.72, a Karambit Fade at $1,495 and a Butterfly Doppler at $1,853. The Butterfly costs 19.08× the Navaja.

Put the Talon's Factory New Doppler next to that ladder. Steam's lowest Talon Doppler asked $929.34 on 14 October, far above the Bayonet Doppler's $328.72. It also sat below the Karambit Fade and well below the Butterfly Doppler. The same-finish comparison is the cleanest one available: the Bayonet Doppler and the Talon Doppler are the same finish and the same wear tier, so the gap between them is the model premium.

The camo end tells the same story. A Field-Tested Flip Knife Urban Masked listed at $103.67 on the feed's refresh. A Field-Tested Talon Urban Masked asked $283.19 on Steam. Same finish, same wear, and the Talon costs more than twice as much even before you account for the venue difference.

That venue difference is real, and I want to be precise about it. My feed records the lowest listing across third-party marketplaces, while the Talon figures here are Steam asking prices. I did not measure the gap between the two venues for the Talon, so I will not quote a correction factor. What the comparison supports is the rank order, not an exact dollar ratio.

One dated trend from my own history file is worth knowing, because the Talon will not escape it. Between my first snapshot on 31 July 2026 and the refresh of 13 October 2026, the Factory New Karambit Fade fell from $1,869.66 to $1,560.34 (down 16.5%), the Butterfly Doppler from $2,075.49 to $1,860 (down 10.4%), the Bayonet Doppler from $388 to $339.24 (down 12.6%) and the Navaja Doppler from $106.49 to $97.13 (down 8.8%). Every benchmark knife I track lost value over those ten weeks. I have no Talon history to set against that, so I do not claim the Talon followed, but nothing in the data says knives were rising.

Why does a camo Talon cost several times a camo Kukri?

Because the price is in the model, not the finish. The cleanest test I have is Safari Mesh in Field-Tested, the cheapest camo on both knives. My feed's 25 October 2026 refresh had a Field-Tested Safari Mesh Kukri knife at $35.60. The cheapest Field-Tested Safari Mesh Talon on Steam on 14 October asked $230.00. Same pattern, same wear tier, and the Talon is several times the price, even allowing for the venue difference.

Nothing about Safari Mesh is better on a Talon. What buyers pay for is the knife underneath it, and the market prices the Talon model far above the Kukri. You can see that in the table too. The cheapest camo on the Talon ($230.00) costs more than a Factory New Navaja Doppler did in my feed ($97.12 on the 25 October 2026 refresh), which is the bluntest way I can put where this knife sits.

For a buyer that cuts two ways. If you love the Talon's shape, the camo finishes are the cheapest way to own the model, and nothing below them exists. If what you want is simply a gold name, the Talon is the wrong place to look. The cheapest knife in CS2 page covers the families where the same budget buys a Doppler or a Fade instead of a camo.

Which Talon finish should you choose for your budget?

Start from the money you have, then pick the finish you like inside that band. Using the cheapest listing per finish on 14 October 2026, the Talon splits into four bands.

Under $300. Safari Mesh ($230.00 FT), Forest DDPAT ($245.00 FT), Scorched ($246.34 FT), Boreal Forest ($255.89 BS), Night Stripe ($278.76 FT) and Urban Masked ($283.19 FT). These are the entry tickets. Every one of them listed in Field-Tested with 17 to 26 copies available, so you have real choice of float and you are not stuck with whatever one seller wants.

$300 to $500. Rust Coat ($300.61 BS), Ultraviolet ($305.71 WW), Stained ($370.00 BS), Damascus Steel ($373.41 FT), the vanilla Talon ($383.29), Crimson Web ($398.74 BS), Blue Steel ($419.54 BS) and Case Hardened ($487.06 WW). This is the widest band and, in my view, the most interesting one. The vanilla Talon is the plain-steel knife with no finish at all, and it costs about the same as a Damascus Steel. Rust Coat listed only in Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred, so expect a worn-looking blade.

$500 to $1,000. Tiger Tooth ($596.18 FN), Marble Fade ($696.02 FN), Slaughter ($745.00 FT) and Doppler ($929.34 FN). These are the showpiece finishes, and three of the four had deep Factory New supply that morning: 52 Tiger Tooth, 61 Marble Fade and 35 Doppler listings. Deep supply is good news for a buyer, because you can be choosy about pattern.

Over $1,000. Fade ($1,112.97 FN) is the only finish whose cheapest listing crossed $1,000. If you are at this budget, the honest comparison is with the Karambit Fade, which my feed had at $1,495 for Factory New. The Talon gets you the same finish for less. The Karambit gets you the more famous model.

My own pick in each band would be Field-Tested Night Stripe under $300, Damascus Steel in Factory New ($470.26) in the middle, and Tiger Tooth in the top band. That is a taste call, not a data claim. What the data does say is that the Factory New Damascus Steel had 14 listings at $470.26, less than a Field-Tested Case Hardened ($549.53), which makes it one of the few Factory New bargains on the knife.

Which wear tier gives the best value on a Talon?

Field-Tested, for most finishes, and the snapshot shows why. Wear tiers follow fixed float ranges: Factory New 0.00 to 0.07, Minimal Wear 0.07 to 0.15, Field-Tested 0.15 to 0.38, Well-Worn 0.38 to 0.45 and Battle-Scarred 0.45 to 1.00 (as BLAST.tv's wear guide lays out). On the Talon, stepping up from Field-Tested to Minimal Wear cost a lot on 14 October:

  • Safari Mesh: $230.00 FT to $314.10 MW, about 1.37 times.
  • Night Stripe: $278.76 to $390.14, about 1.40 times.
  • Case Hardened: $549.53 to $752.87, about 1.37 times.
  • Crimson Web: $456.10 to $783.76, about 1.72 times, the steepest jump on the knife.
  • Damascus Steel: $373.41 to $403.00, about 1.08 times.
  • Slaughter: $745.00 to $759.70, about 1.02 times, the gentlest step on the knife.

Two patterns in the table break the usual "better wear costs more" rule, and both are worth understanding before you buy.

First, the most worn tier is not always the cheapest. Damascus Steel in Battle-Scarred asked $489.29 against $373.41 for Field-Tested, and Case Hardened in Battle-Scarred ($489.29) cost slightly more than Well-Worn ($487.06). With only five and eleven listings in those Battle-Scarred tiers, a couple of optimistic sellers set the floor. If you are shopping worn, compare against the next tier up before assuming you are saving money.

Second, Minimal Wear sometimes costs more than Factory New. The Fade's Minimal Wear floor was $1,713.08 against $1,112.97 for Factory New, and the Doppler's was $993.86 against $929.34. In both cases Minimal Wear had a handful of listings while Factory New had 16 and 35. When the better tier has more supply, it can be the cheaper buy, and paying more for a worse float is the easiest mistake on this knife. The Factory New vs Minimal Wear vs Field-Tested guide covers how to judge the trade-off on any skin.

Is a StatTrak Talon worth the extra money?

Only if you want the kill counter, because the premium was modest and uneven. Steam's results that morning included the StatTrak versions too, so I could compare like with like. For the same finish and wear, StatTrak asked:

  • Vanilla: $464.29 against $383.29.
  • Fade (FN): $1,200.00 against $1,112.97.
  • Doppler (FN): $1,094.47 against $929.34.
  • Marble Fade (FN): $852.43 against $696.02.
  • Tiger Tooth (FN): $696.99 against $596.18.
  • Case Hardened (FT): $627.30 against $549.53.
  • Ultraviolet (FT): $411.35 against $312.39.
  • Safari Mesh (FT): $294.26 against $230.00.

That works out to between about 8% extra (the Fade) and about 32% extra (the Ultraviolet). StatTrak supply is much thinner, though. Several StatTrak tiers had a single listing that day, including Blue Steel in Factory New at $1,258.17, so the cheapest StatTrak copy may not be the float or pattern you want. Treat the counter as a preference you pay for, not as an investment feature. I have no sales data showing StatTrak Talons hold value better, so I make no claim that they do.

How do you check a Talon listing before you buy?

Check four things, in this order, and walk away from any listing that will not let you see them.

1. The exact float, not just the tier name. A Field-Tested Talon can be anywhere from 0.15 to 0.38, and the difference shows on the blade. Inspect the item in game or read the float on the listing. The guide to how to check CS2 float walks through both.

2. The pattern, on pattern finishes. Case Hardened, Fade, Doppler, Marble Fade and Crimson Web all vary from copy to copy. Two listings with the same name and wear can look very different, and the cheapest one is usually the least attractive pattern. Look at the actual item before you pay.

3. The price on more than one venue. My snapshot is Steam only, and the same item can ask a different price on every venue. Compare the Steam floor with the marketplaces you trust. The guide to the best CS2 skin marketplaces covers the main options, and the CS2 skin scams page covers what to avoid.

4. How many copies are listed. If a tier has one or two listings, the asking price is one seller's opinion. Look at the tier above and below. The table above shows how often a thin tier is out of line with its neighbours.

For the wider context on what knives cost, the CS2 knives hub has every family I cover, and the CS2 skin prices homepage shows the live feed that every tracked number on this site comes from.

Frequently asked questions

What is the cheapest Talon knife CS2 has?

On 14 October 2026 the cheapest Talon on the Steam Community Market was a Field-Tested Safari Mesh at $230.00, with 25 listings. Forest DDPAT ($245.00) and Scorched ($246.34), both Field-Tested, were close behind.

What is the most expensive Talon finish?

Judged by each finish's cheapest listing, Fade was the dearest: a Factory New Fade asked $1,112.97 on Steam on 14 October 2026. Doppler came next at $929.34. Individual cells ran higher, but those were single listings: a Factory New Case Hardened at $1,713.09 and a Minimal Wear Fade at $1,713.08.

How many Talon finishes are there?

Eighteen finishes plus the vanilla Talon. All 19 non-StatTrak items had active listings on the Steam Community Market on 14 October 2026.

Is there a Gamma Doppler Talon?

I found no evidence of one. No Gamma Doppler Talon appeared in Steam's results on 14 October 2026, and a query of my multi-marketplace feed for a Factory New Gamma Doppler Talon returned "No listings found". The same goes for Lore, Autotronic, Black Laminate, Bright Water and Freehand, which did not appear on Steam either.

Is the Talon cheaper than a Karambit?

Yes, for the same finish. A Factory New Talon Fade asked $1,112.97 on Steam on 14 October 2026, while my feed had a Factory New Karambit Fade at $1,495 on its 25 October 2026 refresh. The two figures come from different venues, so the gap is a direction, not an exact discount.

Is the Talon cheaper than a Butterfly Knife?

By a wide margin. The cheapest Factory New Talon Doppler asked $929.34 on Steam on 14 October 2026. My feed had a Factory New Butterfly Doppler at $1,853.

Which wear tiers does the Doppler Talon come in?

On 14 October 2026 the Doppler listed only in Factory New (35 listings) and Minimal Wear (4 listings) on Steam. Marble Fade, Tiger Tooth and Fade showed the same two tiers. I have not checked a float-range source, so I describe what was listed rather than claim a cap.

Why is Minimal Wear sometimes dearer than Factory New?

Supply. On 14 October 2026 a Minimal Wear Talon Fade asked $1,713.08 with two listings, while Factory New asked $1,112.97 with 16. When the better tier has more sellers, it can be cheaper, so always compare the tier above.

Is a StatTrak Talon worth it?

Only if you want the counter. On 14 October 2026 StatTrak cost between about 8% (Fade, Factory New) and about 32% (Ultraviolet, Field-Tested) more than the same Talon without it, and StatTrak supply was much thinner.

Which case is the Talon from?

I am not naming one here. The Steam market pages I read for this snapshot list prices, not case contents, and I only state a knife's case when a Valve page I have read confirms it. Valve's published odds for any knife case put a gold item at 0.26% per opening; the case opening odds page explains what that means for your budget.

Will Talon prices go up?

I cannot tell you, and I have no Talon price history to base a guess on. Every benchmark knife in my own history fell between 31 July and 13 October 2026, the Karambit Fade by 16.5% and the Butterfly Doppler by 10.4%. Buy a Talon because you want it, not as a bet.

Where do the Talon prices on this page come from?

The Talon figures are lowest asking prices on the Steam Community Market, read at about 06:30 UTC on 14 October 2026. The figures for other knives are live tokens from my own price feed, which records the lowest listing across several third-party marketplaces and refreshes every few days.
