Which knives come out of the Fever Case, and what do they cost? Short version: the Fever Case knives are the four Shattered Web models, the Nomad, Paracord, Skeleton and Survival, in Chroma finishes. A Factory New Doppler of the cheapest one, the Survival Knife, had a lowest Steam Market listing of $215.00 when I checked on 14 October 2026. To unbox one you need, on average, 385 opens at about $3.00 each, or $1,155.

I run the price feed behind this site. It has tracked the Fever Case itself since 31 July 2026, and the latest refresh, dated 24 October 2026, lists it at $0.52. The knives are not in that feed, so for this page I read Valve's own sources and took a dated snapshot of the knife listings on Steam. Below: what Valve says about the gold slot and how I checked it, the knife prices, the odds and the spend, and whether opening makes sense when you could just buy the knife.

Which knives can you get from the Fever Case?

Valve's own wording settles the knife question, though you have to read two announcements to get the whole of it.

Start with the case. The Fever Case listing on the Steam Community Market shows Valve's item description, which lists 17 weapon finishes and then ends on one gold line: "or an Exceedingly Rare Special Item!" (read 14 October 2026). It does not name the item. That is where it differs from the Kilowatt Case, whose listing names an Exceedingly Rare Kukri Knife outright. If you only look at the Fever Case listing, you cannot tell which knives are behind the gold slot.

The answer is in the update that added the case. Valve's 31 March 2025 post, "Spring Forward", listed the new Armory content as the Train 2025 Collection, the Fever Case and the XM1014 | Solitude. It described the case as "featuring 17 weapon finishes from community contributors and Shattered Web knives in Chroma finishes". That post is archived in the Counter-Strike 2 release notes, and I read it through Steam's news feed for app 730 on 14 October 2026.

So which knives are the Shattered Web knives? Valve named them in its 19 November 2019 Operation Shattered Web announcement: "the Paracord handled field knife, the Survival, the Nomad, and the Skeleton knife". That gives four knife types from the Fever Case:

  • Nomad Knife
  • Paracord Knife, which Valve called the "Paracord handled field knife"
  • Skeleton Knife. The Skeleton Knife guide covers its design and its original finishes in detail.
  • Survival Knife

The same 2019 post said the Shattered Web Case brought those four "in original finishes". The Chroma versions are the new part, and they are what the Fever Case adds. Neither Valve post lists the Chroma finishes by name, so I checked which ones exist. On 14 October 2026, Steam Market search returned Doppler listings in Factory New and Minimal Wear for all four models, plus StatTrak Doppler listings for all four. It also returned the Nomad Knife in Ultraviolet in all five wears. I am not printing a full finish list, because no Valve page I could read lists one. Doppler is confirmed on every model, so that is the finish I priced below.

Three practical points about the gold slot follow from Valve's text:

  • No gloves. The gold slot holds knives only. If you want gloves, you need a different case. The best CS2 cases to open ranking sorts cases by what is in their special-item pool.
  • No classic knives. No Karambit, Butterfly, Bayonet or M9 comes from this case. They are not Shattered Web knives, and Valve's description of the Fever Case names only the Shattered Web set.
  • Renting never gets you a knife. The Fever Case listing says "Items in this container can be rented." When Valve brought in rentals with the Kilowatt Case in May 2024, it said a rental covers every weapon in the case "excluding the rare special item". Renting gives you a week with the weapon skins and never a knife.

One thing Valve does not publish is how the 0.26% gold chance splits between the four knife types or between finishes. Anyone who tells you the odds of a Skeleton Doppler in particular is guessing, so this page never quotes a per-knife chance.

What do the Fever Case knives cost right now?

My feed does not track these knives, so I priced them the way a buyer would on 14 October 2026: the cheapest listing on Valve's own market for each item. I used one finish for all four, the Factory New Doppler, because it is the one Chroma finish I confirmed on every Fever Case knife, which makes the comparison fair. Here is the snapshot:

Knife (Fever Case gold slot)Doppler, Factory NewListings at that price pointDoppler, Minimal WearStatTrak Doppler, Factory New
Survival Knife$215.00179$395.00$264.50
Paracord Knife$235.32173$395.00$302.99
Nomad Knife$402.47100$608.04$549.39
Skeleton Knife$682.0865$961.44$920.00

Lowest Steam Community Market listing per item, read from Steam's market search on 14 October 2026, in US dollars. The listings column is the number of Factory New Doppler listings Steam showed for each knife at that moment. A Doppler's appearance varies from copy to copy, and Steam's lowest listing does not tell you which variant it is.

Four things in that table matter more than the exact cents.

The model sets the price more than the finish does. The Doppler and the wear are the same on every row, yet the Skeleton costs more than three times what the Survival does. That matches what Valve's case listing cannot tell you: when the gold slot lands, which knife you get matters more than anything else. A Fever Case gold item can be worth a couple of hundred dollars or several times that.

Minimal Wear costs more than Factory New on every row. That looks backwards, but there were also far fewer MW listings. Steam showed between 6 and 10 Minimal Wear Doppler listings per knife, against 65 to 179 for Factory New. With so few MW copies on sale, each seller sets the price for the whole row. Don't read the MW column as "MW is better". It is just thin.

StatTrak costs more, but the premium varies. On the Survival Knife it added $49.50. On the Skeleton it added $237.92.

Doppler is not the floor. The cheapest gold item from this case could be a different finish or a worn copy. The Nomad Knife Ultraviolet I found ran from $123.00 Battle-Scarred to $345.00 Factory New on the same day. The Doppler row is a reference point, not a guaranteed value for whatever you pull.

A word on the venue. My site's CS2 skin prices feed reads four third-party marketplaces, and their prices can differ from Steam's. These knives are not in the feed, and I would rather show you one venue I actually read than estimate what the others would have said. If you plan to buy, check the same item on two or three venues before you pay. The prices also move, and this table is a 14 October 2026 snapshot, not a live quote.

What are the odds of a knife, and how much will you spend chasing one?

The chance is the same as for every standard CS2 weapon case: 0.26% per open for the gold slot. That is Valve's Rare Special Item tier, next to 79.92% Mil-Spec, 15.98% Restricted, 3.20% Classified and 0.64% Covert. Each open is independent, and nothing in Valve's disclosure makes your odds improve the more you open. The CS2 case opening odds page explains where those five numbers come from and works through the cumulative maths in full. Here I only need two results from it.

First, the average. 1 divided by 0.26% is 384.6, so over many players a gold item turns up about once every 385 opens. Second, the spread. Even 385 opens gives you only about a 63% chance of at least one knife, so more than a third of people who open that many get none.

Now the cost, priced with my own numbers. Each open needs a Fever Case and a Fever Case Key, and Valve sells the key for $2.49. On the 13 October 2026 refresh my feed's lowest Fever Case listing was $0.51, at CS.MONEY. So one open costs $3.00, and the average spend per gold pull is:

385 opens × ($0.51 + $2.49) = $1,155.00

Of that, $958.65 is keys and $196.35 is cases. The key is about five-sixths of the bill, which is why the case price barely matters here. My price history shows how little. Since 31 July 2026 the Fever Case's lowest listing has stayed between $0.41 and $0.53. It was $0.52 on 31 July, sat between $0.50 and $0.53 through August and early September, dropped to $0.41 on the 10 and 13 September snapshots, and was back at $0.51 on 13 October. There is no snapshot between 13 September and 13 October, so I can't say when it recovered. Priced at the low and high ends of that range, the same 385 opens cost $1,116.50 or $1,162.70. That is a $46.20 difference on a bill of more than a thousand dollars. When the case gets cheaper, the bill barely moves. The key price is what you are really paying.

For how the Fever Case's price compares with the other cases I track, and why cheap active cases drift lower, see the CS2 case prices page. I won't repeat that ladder here.

One honest limit: $1,155 is the cost of some gold item, not of a particular knife. Because Valve does not publish the split between the four models, the expected cost of a specific one, say a Skeleton, is higher than $1,155 by an amount nobody outside Valve can calculate. I could guess, but I won't.

Should you open Fever Cases for a knife, or just buy one?

No, not if a particular Fever Case knife is the goal. Compare the two numbers I measured. The average spend per gold pull is $1,155. The most expensive knife in my snapshot, the Skeleton Knife Doppler in Factory New, had a lowest listing of $682.08, and the other three were cheaper still. So on average, opening costs more than buying the priciest knife in the set outright:

  • Survival Knife Doppler FN: $215.00 to buy, so the average unboxing spend is 5.37 times the price.
  • Paracord Knife Doppler FN: $235.32 to buy, 4.91 times.
  • Nomad Knife Doppler FN: $402.47 to buy, 2.87 times.
  • Skeleton Knife Doppler FN: $682.08 to buy, 1.69 times.

The chart above shows the same comparison: four amber bars for buying and one red bar for the average spend on opens. Put another way, the $215.00 for the cheapest Doppler in the set buys about 72 Fever Case opens at $3.00 each. At 0.26% per open, 72 opens gives you roughly a one-in-six chance of any gold item at all. Buying gets you the knife you chose for certain.

The comparison isn't completely one-sided, and two points narrow it:

  • Opens are not worth zero. The other 99.74% of opens give you the case's weapon skins, which you can sell. My feed doesn't track the Fever Case's 17 weapon finishes, so I can't put a dated figure on what they return. The odds page works through a full expected-value example on the Kilowatt Case instead. That example shows the skins recover part of the spend, but nowhere near all of it, because 79.92% of opens are Mil-Spec.
  • A gold pull can be worth more than the reference. A Skeleton in a pricier finish, or a StatTrak copy, can be worth more than the Doppler row. That upside is real, but it's a small slice of an outcome that is already rare.

When does opening make sense? When you enjoy the opening itself, and you pick a budget you would happily spend on any other game purchase and treat it as gone. If you want to choose between cases on that basis, the best cases to open ranking compares them for entertainment rather than profit. If you want a Fever Case knife, the cheaper route by a wide margin is to buy the exact one you want. Check its listing on two or three venues on the day, and pick the copy whose float and pattern you like. The CS2 knives hub covers the other budget routes, and the CS2 cases hub explains how cases, keys and drops work if you are new to all this.

Two warnings to finish. Opening cases is a paid game of chance, so set a hard cap before you start. And stay away from third-party sites that offer "cheaper" Fever Case openings, knife giveaways or deposit bonuses. This site doesn't cover them or link to them, and none of them change Valve's 0.26%.

Frequently asked questions

What knives are in the Fever Case?

The four Shattered Web knives in Chroma finishes: the Nomad, Paracord, Skeleton and Survival Knife. Valve's 31 March 2025 update described the case as having "Shattered Web knives in Chroma finishes", and its 2019 Shattered Web announcement names those four models. The case's own Steam Market listing only says "or an Exceedingly Rare Special Item!".

Can you get gloves from the Fever Case?

No. Valve's description of the case names Shattered Web knives as the special items and says nothing about gloves. For a chance at gloves you need a different case.

What is the cheapest Fever Case knife?

In my 14 October 2026 Steam Market snapshot of Factory New Dopplers, the Survival Knife was cheapest at $215.00, followed by the Paracord at $235.32. A worn copy or a different Chroma finish can be cheaper. The Nomad Knife Ultraviolet started at $123.00 in Battle-Scarred on the same day.

How many Fever Cases do you need to open to get a knife?

About 385 on average, because Valve's gold-slot chance is 0.26% per open. That is an average, not a promise. At 385 opens the chance of at least one knife is only about 63%, and every open is independent.

How much does it cost to unbox a Fever Case knife?

At the 13 October 2026 case price of $0.51 plus Valve's $2.49 key, each open costs $3.00, so 385 opens average $1,155.00. That is the cost of any gold item. Valve does not publish the odds for a specific knife, so a specific knife costs more.

Can you rent a Fever Case knife?

No. The Fever Case listing says its items can be rented. However, when Valve introduced rentals with the Kilowatt Case it said rentals exclude the rare special item, so a rental covers the weapon skins only.
